Bromine may be an essential trace element for red algae and possibly mammals. It is found in the mollusc pigment "royal purple", although its role is not understood. Excessive bromide intake leads to depression and of weight loss.

How much bromine is in your body? Find out here.

You can use this form to calculate how much bromine your body contains. Enter your weight in either kilograms or pounds and click the "Calculate" button. You must enter a number, not text! Elements for which there are no data will always give a value of zero for the weight, no matter what you put in the weight box.

Hazards and Risks

Hazards and risks associated with bromine:

Bromine is a very corrosive oxidising liquid whose vapour attacks the eyes and lungs with painful effects. Bromides salts should be treated as toxic. Excessive bromide intake leads to depression and of weight loss.
